New artistic online directory

The Mobile Arts Council has created an online art directory that promises to be an invaluable cultural tool.

Each page will feature an artist’s contact information, as well as the artist’s statement, a description of their work, a list of affiliations/awards, recent exhibitions/publications/performances and more. In the case of visual artists, three examples of their work may be displayed, and MAC hopes to soon accommodate audio and video files for performing artists.

It is searchable by last name or discipline.

The Arts Council hopes to make the list as complete as possible, encompassing a universe of disciplines.

Those who desire inclusion may use a form on the site to join MAC for a nominal annual fee

The directory is the baby of MAC and Dewayne Holden of Dogwood Productions and is financed by a grant from the Alabama “Support the Arts” License Tag Committee.

Three decades’ worth of paintings, drawings and sculptures are in the show.
