Cover Story

If Lagniappe were a child, it would be headed off to first grade and undoubtedly to a string of stays in the principal’s office and subsequent detention. Why, it seems like just yesterday we were changing its diapers and teaching it how to ridicule.

Hard to believe we’ve made it this far with no major lawsuits under our belt, but it wouldn’t be for a lack of effort. Don’t despair. We intend to keep our eyes on our goals if we ever hope to end up in court.

For six years, we’ve brought you shotgun wounds and strippers, baby tigers and deviant sexual practices, kids on horseback and dead

hookers. Who says we’re not family friendly?

Yet some things about our newspaper and life in Mobile continue to stick in your collective craw. So we ask you to tell us all about it, vent your loves and hates. Let it all out and we’ll promise only to print the worst of it.
