Getting their goats in Cypress Shores
To the editor:
I visited a friend on Sept. 28 that lives across from Ms. Lathan and I was not aware of this whole situation (Hidden Agenday 9/24/08). (Sorry, I had not read my Lagniappe yet!) I parked on what I considered the right-of-way across from my friend’s house because she was having a “get together” and there were several vehicles.
My friend asked me to please move my vehicle because the woman who lives there will not be happy with where I was parked. ONLY because I did not want to cause my friend any anxiety, I politely moved my vehicle. Within five minutes of me moving, Ms. Lathan came onto what I would have believed was the right-of-way and proceeded to “decorate” the trees and the ground with stuff. I do not know any other way to describe the things that Ms. Lathan was using because garbage and trash do not adequately describe the “stuff” that was being used to decorate the area.
The whole situation seemed petty and silly until I read your article. Now her actions seem petty, silly, stupid and very confrontational. I do not see where Ms. Lathan is using this time as a “cooling off period” as Barbara Drummond, Executive Director of Administrative Services for the city had hoped EVERYONE would do.
Good Luck Cypress Shores and hopefully you will be fortunate in getting the farm moved to the country. Zoning Laws-schmoaning laws.
I say let’s have a good ole fashion southern picnic with some fried chicken and roasted goat. I have never personally tasted roasted goat, but when I Googled goat recipes I got back 839,000 results in .08 seconds.
