Mobile Ballet revels in regional flavor for their presentation of “The Princess and the Frog” on March 29 and 30 at the Saenger Theatre (6 S. Joachim St.). The classic fairy tale has been revamped into a magical quest around Mobile Bay searching for a cure to a mysterious spell.
Derived from E.D. Baker’s 2002 novel, “The Frog Princess,” Disney retrofitted it with a New Orleans twist in 2009. Mobile Ballet Artistic Director Katia Garza then gave it an Azalea City tweaking and premiered her creation to a sold-out house in 2021.
