'Man on the Run'

Paul McCartney’s documentary on derided Wings is wholesome, dorkMy son and I are avid Beatles fans, but when it comes to Wings, we are in the ambivalent to hostile range. So we ventured hesitantly into the new Paul McCartney documentary “Man on the Run,” about his time after he left the Beatles. 

In the end, we learned a lot and enjoyed it, although McCartney’s role as executive producer surely precluded the objectivity one might seek from a “documentary.” Perhaps no lids were blown off of anything, but I appreciated all the footage and photographs you would expect when one of the most famous men in the world marries a professional photographer.
