Flora-Bama’s Shindig aims to help local artists

The Flora-Bama is an iconic Gulf Coast watering hole known for serving up drinks, music and debauchery. In 2013, this “Great American Roadhouse” decided to celebrate its epic reputation for good times with the birth of Shindig on the Sand. This event brought together just about every musical act that frequents this venue for a weekend filled with music.

Now, they are bringing back the “Shindig” for its second year. This time, one of the festival’s objectives is bringing attention to the Gulf Coast Musicians’ Assistance Fund (GCMAF). This organization’s goal is “to keep Gulf Coast music alive by sustaining its musicians in mind, body and spirit” by helping with health care costs.
