The Alabama House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill to provide tax credits for restaurants and individuals who recycle oyster shells.

House Rep. Chip Brown, R-Hollinger’s Island, filed House Bill 28 in August, and told fellow House members the legislation, if passed into law, will encourage restaurants to recycle oyster shells to help preserve and create new habitat for oyster and other sealife.
