Application for asylum, refugee

Refugee arrivals in Alabama increased significantly in 2024, according to the most recent federal data — a spike being attributed to national trends combined with the expansion of local support services.

Those numbers reflect a nationwide swell in the humanitarian immigration program, which climbed to its highest rate in three decades. Officials with local refugee advocacy and support services described the increase as the expansion of critical services through a bonafide, vetted and legal method of immigration. However, former congressman Jerry Carl, R-Mobile, said the expansion, if left unchecked, would harm the region.

We are a nation of immigrants.

Different ideas lead to the best decision-making.

Immigrants' religions are faith-based, like established religions here. None are fact-based, or they wouldn't be religions.

If Trump even partially succeeds in his migrant round-up, there will be huge pressure on labor availability and supply chains.
