When I moved to Baldwin County 30 years ago from Madison County I was shocked that zoning was such a hot issue. I thought "why would anyone be against zoning?" To me it just meant being a good neighbor. To others it was a form of socialism. It took two tries to get Magnolia Springs zoned while zoning votes failed in area after area. I always knew there would be something (like the solar farm) that would eventually change peoples minds even though it would be too late to stop the offending project. To the rest of unzoned Baldwin County I say: "You are next."
