Although remembered for his unflinching dedication to the city he served, Mobile Executive Director of Finance and acting Chief of Staff Paul Wesch was more than a devout public servant to those who knew and worked with him. 

From talk of his burgeoning “oyster empire” out near the pier by his house to discussions about the intricacies of perfect barbecue, former city spokesperson George Talbot remembers Wesch as a friend who was just fun to be around.
