More than 12 hours after he fell off Cedar Point Pier and into the water below, search crews are still scouring the Mississippi Sound and Mobile Bay for a 20-year-old fisherman identified as a Grand Bay resident.

At around 2:14 a.m. Thursday morning, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man slipped off the public fishing pier outside Dauphin Island and fell into the waves. Multiple law enforcement agencies joined MCSO investigators in the search to recover his body.
