A Mobile man who confessed to leading a multi-state drug trafficking operation that pumped hundreds of pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine into the area was sentenced Friday to life in prison.

Braxton Arius Thomas, 38, received the sentence in U.S. District Court in Mobile after pleading guilty to a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. U.S. District Judge Terry F. Moorer also ordered Thomas to serve 10 years of supervised release if he is ever released from custody and imposed a $100 special assessment, according to the court docket. There is no parole in the federal system.
