Lime scooters

New rules for Mobile’s rentable scooters approved by the City Council Tuesday will improve safety and help with public transit, Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis said.

Last week, the Council reviewed a new agreement between the city and the micro-transit company Lime that would lower the speed limit on the company’s scooters to a maximum of eight miles per hour, require riders to take part in a brief training course and mandate a daily roundup of all scooters back to designated corrals.
