No foul play suspected after body discovered in Chickasaw, police say

Mobile police identified the body recovered Thursday from a sunken vehicle in Chickasaw as a woman reported missing in 2021, according to a statement. Though missing for almost four years, investigators said they do not suspect she died from foul play.

After lifting the vehicle from the water near the landing at Williams-Brooks Park, investigators identified the person inside it as Helen Ward, whose missing persons case has been active with the Mobile Police Department since 2021, according to a statement.
