More than a Statistic

“I’m too far gone now. I know everyone needs to ignore me and move on with their lives. I’m sick and confused in the head. My addiction gets worse the more I know I am hurting those around me. Trust me, if I could stop, I WOULD … It only gets worse and worse and not a tiny bit better. I am sorry.”

Mary Catherine Grayson sent this message to her mother in July 2014, less than a year before she died from a heroin overdose.
