Jerry Johnson resigns

Orange Beach City Councilman Jerry Johnson announces his resignation Tuesday, June 2, during a city council meeting. 

After more than a decade on the Orange Beach City Council, Jerry Johnson announced his resignation during Tuesday night's meeting. 

During the meeting, Johnson, who also serves as mayor pro tem, said he is resigning to be there for his 14-year-old grandson, who suffered a heart attack earlier this year and has been in the hospital ever since. He is currently waiting for a heart transplant, Johnson said.
