SS United States

Pam Paflas was only 11-years-old when she first boarded the SS United States with her parents before embarking on a trip to the Caribbean. As she looked toward the 990-foot-long oceanliner, she felt again the sense of awe over the sheer size and beauty of the ship she felt decades ago.

“The size of it was just unbelievable,” Paflas said. “You could walk from one end to the other and it took a while. The food was excellent, we had real silver silverware and it was truly an amazing ship and an experience.”
