South Alabama Medical & Rehab (SAM&R) in Mobile

A local rehabilitation practice and its web of affiliated corporations, marketing agencies and attorneys face being shut down by the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office for allegedly fraudulent medical care and legal services.

A bombshell consumer protection lawsuit filed Wednesday afternoon by District Attorney Keith Blackwood’s office accuses the South Alabama Medical & Rehab (SAM&R) on Old Shell Road of a coordinated scheme to “commoditize accident victims” by maximizing revenue from patients’ litigated insurance settlements through deceptive business practices and “fraudulently inflated” bills.

This should never had happened. So glad this was discovered. Hats off to Lagniappe and all involved in bringing down this corrupt regime!

Agree! This is a blockbuster story, and as usual none of the other local news outlets are covering it, best I can tell. If it wasn't for Lagniappe I wouldn't know half of what's going on in this city.
