When you’re a columnist, there are just some things you can’t pass on writing about, and U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s hysterical Senate floor rant last week about “furries” in the airline industry is one of those. It would be opinion writing malpractice not to explore this strange speech and his subsequent doubling down.

Tuberville delivered this masterpiece Sept. 22. It started with Alabama’s senior senator alerting his colleagues to the dangers of furries infiltrating the nation’s airlines. Adding to the strangeness of the scene was a placard next to Tuberville of what appeared to be a pregnant man emoji.

This! This is why Tuberville never answered my emails and requests for help with constituent services. He was deeply absorbed in the people's concerns about subjects like furries. I can't wait to see how he govern from Montgomery..
