The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) boys’ and girls’ basketball regular seasons have come to an end and the postseason will start right away with area tournaments throughout the state. The Mobile County-Baldwin County area has several tournaments scheduled, starting as early as Thursday.
The top two teams in each of the area tournaments will advance to the next phase of postseason play, which will include sub-regional matchups. That is followed by regional tournaments — Central Region at Alabama State in Montgomery, South Regional play at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Northeast Regional play at Jacksonville State University and Northwest Regional play at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. Regional games are scheduled Feb. 17-25.
