If Ty Simpson had been exactly as good as many fans thought he would be this year, Alabama’s season would already be a wrap, and the noise about replacing the head coach might be as loud coming out of Tuscaloosa as it is from the other side of the state.

I’ve always been a Simpson supporter, even though he entered his fourth year in the program without a single touchdown pass. Still, I thought he could be good this year. Like, top five best quarterbacks in the SEC good.
