Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel showed great resolve when he refused to give into the low-class negotiating tactics of his quarterback, Nico Iamaleava.
The sophomore quarterback was already being paid $2.2 million a year to play the position at a mediocre level. Two days before the Volunteers’ spring game, Iamaleava, his blow-hard dad and his representatives decided to demand a raise of nearly 100 percent to an annual deal worth $4 million.
