Vigor's Jamonica Miller chases a loose ball during Wednesday's game

The season came to an end for the Vigor girls’ basketball team Wednesday afternoon. The Wolves lost their Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 5A state girls’ semifinal game to Scottsboro 72-36 at the Legacy Arena of the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center.

Scottsboro, now 28-5 on the season, built a comfortable lead in the first period and continued to expand it throughout the game. Scottsboro led 21-15 after the first period and built an 11-point advantage, 33-22, at halftime. After three quarters the lead had moved to 52-26 and the matter was all but settled. Scottsboro outscored Vigor 39-14 in the second half.
