Prep baseball

St. Paul’s continues to hold the top spot in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Class 5A baseball poll, but the Saints have a lot of company among local teams, including area foes Faith Academy and Mobile Christian.

While St. Paul’s is No. 1, Faith Academy is just two spots behind at No. 3 and UMS-Wright is ranked No. 5. Mobile Christian received votes but is not ranked among the top 10. St. Paul’s, Faith Academy and Mobile Christian are all in Class 5A, Area 2 along with Citronelle and Vigor. UMS-Wright is in 5A, Area 1 with Elberta, B.C. Rain, Williamson and LeFlore.
