Faith Academy receives its Lagniappe Team of the Week banner.

The Faith Academy Rams claimed a come-from-behind, 20-14 victory at Gulf Shores last Friday night in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 5A state football playoffs. The victory earned the Rams a spot in this week's state semifinals.

It also earned Faith Academy the Lagniappe Team of the Week award, which is sponsored by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. The team was presented its Lagniappe Team of the Week banner Wednesday morning prior to its practice session for Friday's home game against Charles Henderson of Troy. The team that wins that game moves on to the state championship game at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium next Thursday night, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m.
